The Grindstone Islands Schoolhouse, also know as the Upper School (District #15) was built in the late 1800’s and served as an operational one-room schoolhouse until June of 1989. It was the last one-room schoolhouse still in operation at the time of its close. Today the building still stands on Grindstone Island.
