Description
Calumet Island was once home to one of the first castles in the 1000 Islands Region, the Calumet Castle! Constructed by wealthy tobacco magnet Charles G. Emery. Emery was one of the first major developers to the region in the late 1800’s and had a deep passion for the area. This mug depicts Emery’s impressive estate in its glory days in the 1000 Islands Gilded Age. The water tower shown on the far side of the mug is still standing on the island today and has become a major landmark for Clayton. Unfortunately the castle burnt to the ground in 1956.
Bring the Charles Emery’s impressive estate home with our Calumet Island Emery Estate Mug! (Mug reads C.G. Emery Estate Calumet Island 1893)
